I thought about the Illasera battle again and I still can't figure out how she remained invisible without me detecting
her and than returning without cheese. When someone drinks a potion it says invisible in the text box.

She is I guess a fighter/thief and had scrolls so had use any item and used a scrolls before the battle.

I also have a tough time with this battle, the first try was simply backstab x 6, meaning each character got back stabbed and killed permanently, the second time I tried twice to remove magic which didn't work. I noticed that at NO time was she able to be targeted by by my fighters, which if she had improved invisibility and si divination after her first attack she would have been able to be targeted by a fighter. I eventually had to lower the difficulty to escape the 100 + damage from a backstab. The battle came down to my sorcerer and mage/thief casting combat enhancing spells and duking it out with her of which I finally one. could not win this battle otherwise and didn't have any barbarian essense potions as i used them in hell. I might check her script to see what was going on, but that will take alittle time, if anyone has a clue please post.

THanks,

Sounds to me like Illasera is using the infamous Mislead copy trick which allows you to stay invisible through *anything* as long as your clone is alive. A true sight spell won't kill it unless it is in sight of the caster. The only way to beat this is to either find and kill the clone, use help from something that can see insivible (planetars) or killer her with AoE.

I havn't done the fight myself yet, but judgeing from your comments it sounds pretty spot-on. A simple level 6 spell read from a scroll that can make a fighter/thief take out pretty much anything not able to counter it.

Yes, it is a leftover cheesy tactic. In IA v6, this battle will be changed dramatically and improved a lot. Mislead will also be replaced with a new level 6 spell, so both players and Illasera cannot abuse the above tactic.
