About the way to speed up the romances of the "parked" girls: I was under the impression you could "unpark" a romanced girl every time you come by, enjoy the next lovetalk and "park" her again. With this in mind I made the proposition to set the relevant dialogue-variable to zero. But you are correct of course: So long as the npc is "parked" the dialogue-timer is of no use. Unless you would change the whole system and let the love talk roll even with a "parked" woman.

Or did I get it all wrong and you can only "park" a girl after the full romance till the last lovetalk has run its course? :-( That would be totally different allright. The way you formulated: "Imoen is parkable once she has been romanced" indicate it could be that way. Hmm. Anyway around that?

NPCs can be parked as soon as *RomanceActive=2. The love talks only make sense if the NPC is in the party. Yes, you can pick up, have love talk, and re-park; but not recommended as the talks will be way out of context.

The thing I will work on is hustling parkable NPCs into *RomanceActive=2, so that they can be parked ASAP. The planned progressive PIDs for more-or-less permanently parked NPCs are to be a substitute for the regular love talks. They will also contribute to that home-setting stuff you would like. I have a few other ideas on this which have not gelled yet. We shall see.

Nice mod, I'm quite a fan of romances!! *blush*

While I do prefer to focus more on the sweet aspect of it I wouldn't mind some mild mature content either. Not necessarily "porn" level but how about some cuddling and/or tongue kissing with Rjali? Doesn't sound too extreme.

Also:

1. How about adding maybe slightly different reactions of Rjali to the PCs stats like charisma for example? Or even wisdom to show that the PC is dependable and not immature?

2. Some difference in dialogues if the PC stays loyal to her and does not romance anyone else?

3. Maybe a chance to affect Rjali somehow like the PC influencing her to be less good kinda like the opposite the PC could do to Viconia by making her LN or how some other Bioware games had the option to corrupt the cute. Also possibly affecting the epilogue slide that way.

4. Also it would be nice if the PC could buy some special gift to her like the locket(if I remember right?) for Jaheira.

Just some ideas and looking for new stuff!

@nullset: I have to admit you are way ahead of me.

So it could indeed be a good idea to speed up the beginning of the romances a little bit. Therefore reaching the status of a full active romance (variable = 2) a wee bit faster; giving the player much earlier the possibilty to "park" the girl in the keep.

And I would _love_ the idea of "progressive PIDs for more-or-less permanently parked NPCs" as a "substitute for the regular love talks".

But what if the player wants to continue with the romance nevertheless? Right, he would have to "unpark" her, wait the necessary amount of time (if memory serves between 3,000 and 3,600 seconds for the original girls) for the relevant timer to expire. Experience the next lovetalk. "Park" her again in the keep.

Hm, of course you are right: You can't have everything at the same time. So it is true: This PIDs could be a nice alternative way of keeping up a romance that is otherwise "paused" by "parking" the woman. Though I've got to tell you: Having everything feels kind of nice. blush.gif So if you could find a way...

Hmm... How about this: The progressive PIDs are the normal way to interact with "parked" girls in the keep. But (and only) in the event a player should pick up a "parked" girl and include her in the group again, the timer for the next lovetalk is set to zero.

Well, anyway: I am more than sure it will be great!

The mod has quite a bit of mature content already. As to your other comments, this entire mod is about multiple-romance. That is romance AND multiple. That is not going to change. You don't accomplish that by abusing your partner(s). As to gifts, you give Rjali a ring and a diamond. What more could she want. Besides tacos and you-know, of course.

Seewead, you can already speedup the timings during the install. If you are doing the pickup/talk/park once per visit, chances are that the timer has expired. I am not going to muck (any more than I already have) with the love talks. Except for this speeding up thing.

Personally I meant that by "corrupting" her it would be just by suggesting through conversations with perhaps some charisma heavy persuasion options being required. No abuse. Or maybe I just misunderstood your response a bit...

Finally, is there an option to invite her for some tacos, make some super taco for her that would make her COMPLETELY google eyed with delight, give her the perfect taco personally as a gift or maybe have a "hot" scene which includes savoring tacos too? ^^ Errr...maybe I did go a bit too kinky on the last one?

Check the readme. This mod was intended to add mutual awareness to the multiple romance scenario. So, yeah, it is only about multiple romance. Play the mod and you will find Rjali welcoming other women to the family; it is not just a matter of toleration. Except for the one group banter where they all gang up on the protagonist (read: orgy), I do not play with multiple bed partners. That just isn't what this is all about. In fact, I strive to avoid "kinky". BG2 is a medieval environment where it is possible to depict a near normal acceptance of polygamy. This alone made it possible for me to imagine the scenario of this mod. A lot of the adult content you will find was inspired by the bathing options in the FlirtPack (which I also recommend for playing with this mod). As to charismatic persuasion, I think you will find that the NPCs I have introduced (Rjali, Annah, Grace, Ravel) are in need of no such inducement; they are downright forward to begin with. I recommend playing the mod before you offer suggestions that suit it's style. I am not discouraging suggestions; only saying that if you want something that I cannot (or will not) provide, that you should consider rolling your own to suit your own tastes.

From your responses I think this mod will do just fine for me ^^. Sorry if I sounded a bit pushy with suggestions before even starting to play it. I mostly planned to do some questioning on the content in general before playing as BG2 is a rather long and challenging game.

Ah, three more things: Does the mod cover some personal quests for Rjali already or will those come in the future? Are the fights(in the quest/s challenging? Is there some BG2 ToB content already or is it only SoA?

Most of your questions will be answered by a careful reading of the readme. Quickly: Rjali has projects, not so much quests; there is very little combat added by the mod; and the mod has content in SoA and ToB.

If you do not mind to much: Yes, I've read that a great many mod-girls aren't parkable. From my understanding you are not giving this feature, because the structure of the romance-mods would make it very complicated. I am sure it is! Talking ceases and sets to null ( biggrin.gif ). So the girl is still there, but the warm and cozy feeling leaves. Here is the solution: At this point you could make the girl parkable. It shouldn't be mixing up the storyline or structure of the mod or anything, because - as far as I know - the romance-mods consist of two different parts - SOA and TOB -, do they not? For example, a friend of mine is going with amber, and she has only SOA content. blink.gif So he wants to leave her behind after SOA. But do tell: Could you break up with a loved one? Heart of stone? blush.gif


And we read about the PIDs for parked girls, which made us quite excited - if you allow us a glimse into the future: How is that coming?

You're right. Parking a romance mod NPC *is* complicated. The "end of lovetalks" is not always easy to separate from the plot. Many do indeed have ToB content. And most have flirts to extend the "warm and cozy feeling". I did make Branwen and Nalia parkable specifically because they each have little or no ToB content. I am not really trying to take over the world here. So, I have no plans to extend the parking beyond where it is right now. Later? Who knows? I really want to move on to the BGEE prequel for the moment.

As to "heart of stone", the mods themselves have opportunities for dropping their NPCs out of the party: some to be picked up later; some just kicked out. My mod makes multiple romance possible; it does not alter a romance mod's options for the PC's handling of them. If you romance them, they will be welcomed into the fold. If not, they are just another party member until you kick them out.

I'm afraid I also backed down on the extension of PIDs for parked girls. What you have in v6 is what there is.

V7 has some new dialogue content and a few more back references to Sword Coast days. I am on what I hope is my last test run through. It should be out in less than a month. When released, v7 will be it (except for bug fixes) for quite some time because the next months (year?) will be spent on developing the BGEE prequel: the Jini Romance mod. Being a team of one, I cannot be in two places at the same time.

Keep your eye on the first post in this thread for notification of release of v7.0.

It is just that we had such high hopes for many things still to come, after reading in your forum that is. Especially the idea of more PIDs your were talking about and more banters in the keep made us quite excited. The four of us love the keep and what you've done with it. I myself was hoping for a double-massage made by Rjali and one of the girls. dry.gif No, getting serious: I apologize for pushing and asking to much of you. Asking for more content was OK. I liked the suggestions and might at some future time revisit the issue. I am just getting excited about doing new things in BGEE: putting some legs under the scenario of the Rjali mod, as it were. I am also intrigued by the technical challenges involved. I hope you will enjoy the Jini mod when I get it out the door; it will add a full (if oddball) romance to BGEE which that game is (as far as I know) sadly missing. Luckily, the Rjali mod pointed the way to do this without breaking the BG story line. Stay tuned! smoke3.gif

I might get back to Rjali in the future. Probably will. I just want to work on Jini for now. Feeling a little stale on Rjali and need a change of scene. Well, as soon as I have Rjali v7.0 out the door.

1.
Beeing no modder myself, but curiosly browsing through your files, I found your folder 2DA/MAXSPELLS. I gives me the impression that you maybe changed the rules about the maximum spells per level for all the different types of spellcasters. If so - does that make some other tweak-mod-options superfluous?

2.
By the way: From whom comes the voice in your mod? Found no hint in your readme. Like her a lot.

3.
If one would want to exchange one or two of the portraits you added (please don't get mad at me, it is just that I am not that excited about the old-style PST-pics, because I actually never played PST): Do I put an other pic with the same name in the override-folder or do I simply exchange the pics in your portraits-folder before install? Or do I go via the ee-keeper?

4.
After finding your SPELLS-folder it seems to me that you gave Rjali some new spells, not that I would be able to understand them. Could that be the case? In that case here is my question: If I use one of the mods that add or rearrange spells in bg2 - could that do any harm? Because normally I would install such a mod (like any tweak-mod) AFTER all the npc-mods...
