Didn't see an active comprehensive bug thread... If I missed it please delete this topic.
I was very careful about my installation so I don't believe I have any conflicting mods. I noticed you could attack some of the dialog triggered improved NPCs without repercussion. They would stand there while I pound on them, drinking potions until they finally died, never turning hostile. Initiating dialog was the only way to trigger hostility. This occured with Borinall and Samia. I'd imagine this may be the case with other NPCs as well so I'll keep an eye out. |

Well I wasn't sure what else to, so I'll try to describe the problem I'm having. I decided to take out my copy of BG2 and ToB and start playing again for fun. I figured that even though it's been a few years since I last played through them, that I would jazz the experience up a bit with some mods. So I poked around the web and found a few I liked the look of. Currently, I have some Ease-of-Use parts, Dungeon-Be-Gone, and Easy-Core-Rules installed. Then, I found Improved Anvil. The mods I already have are great in themselves, but IA is exactly what I was looking for. So I uninstalled everything and followed the order specified in the IA installation document, SoA -> ToB -> ToB official patch -> Baldurdash 1.12 fixpack -> IA mod. (Only non-recommended mod I installed from Ease of Use was the one getting rid of traps and locks)
So everything was looking great, and I started a new game again. Dungeon Be Gone kicks in and I get through Irenicas' area nice and fast. Got through the scene at the end where Irenicas kills everyone then leaves with the wizards and then I'm in control again. So far so good. So I go sell some stuff at the Adventurer's Mart and notice that now, instead of my game being nice and smooth (I don't have 3d rendering on btw, and I defragged and then restarted my computer earlier today), I notice a little twitch in the fps. So I'm like, "whatever, nothing serious." So I go through the whole thing of getting Aerie and all that stuff, and then I go to that scroll seller at the North part of the Promenade. I sell and buy some stuff, and now the twitch is really serious. Every second or so, the whole game freezes for half a second, then unfreezes. So if I have my party move somewhere, it's very jerky and takes a long time. When I move the cursor, it also displays the same issue, as well as NPCs and things like water/torches. The weird thing is that when I pause the game, I can move the cursor freely and smoothly again. So anyway, I think the problem is something with IA and it conflicting with some other mod, since the problems didn't start with until IA was installed. Talking with other NPCs doesn't seem to cause any issues, nor does zoning into differing areas or going into combat. It seems to be specifically related to merchants. I'm really not all that good with computers or anything, so if it's *not* an IA issue, then any direction would be appreciated. |

So I uninstalled everything and followed the order specified in the IA installation document It seems to be specifically related to merchants. Well, if the problem occurs specifically when you talk to merchants, it should be a very rare and odd local problem in your game. What I can recommend is to do a clean installation of the game and then install everything as instructed in IA's document. You mentioned that you uninstalled your other mods (rather than doing a clean installation of the whole game). Sometimes uninstalling a mod is not enough to clear all of its leftovers and traces. -------------------- Improved Anvil
