I have D/Led some animations in GIF form but unlike bg animations that go s,sw,w,nw,w, then the mirror frames for ne and se. this goes S,W,N,E,SW,NW,NE,SE. does this matter? I do not want the cre. to be facing the wrong way in combat.
also how are the bam files with the E ending created? DLTCEP says when I click on the 'create miror frames' it tells me to read the manual, heh I was not aware that DLTCEP came with one. I think that they might be IWD2 animations but there are some D2 also but the one I am talking about is the goblin worgrider -------------------- |

I've already looked at this.
The entries that we can tag onto the animate ids have a different convention from the BGII ones, they take the IWD convention. Igi and I added to this:- http://iesdp.gibberlings3.net/appendices/avatarnaming.htm NB – These observations are for traditional BAM’s under 241 x 241 and DO NOT include such creatures as Dragon’s or any of the larger avatars. As a general rule of thumb, each in-game action such as an attack, walking and so forth will have two bams attached to it. The second one often has the same name but with an additional e after it (but before the file extension). It normally often contains some null sequences. QUOTE Attack 1 This has two BAM files to it. XXXat1.bam & XXXat1e.bam At1 structure Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North At1e structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Attack 2 This has two BAM files attached to it. XXXat2.bam & XXXat2e.bam At2 structure Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North 5 Northeast At2e structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Spell Release This has two BAM files attached to it. XXXca.bam and XXXcae.bam. XXXca structure Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North 5 Northeast XXXcae structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Death (as in death animation, not the resulting corpse) This has two BAM files attached to it. XXXde.bam & XXXdee.bam XXXde structure Sequence Direction 0 Southwest 1 West 2 Northwest 3 North 4 Northeast XXXdee structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Get Hit This has two files attached to it. XXXgh.bam & XXXghe.bam XXXgh structure Sequence Direction 0 Southwest 1 West 2 Northwest 3 North 4 Northeast XXXghe structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Get Up This animation has two files attached to it. XXXgu.bam and XXXgue.bam. XXXgu structure Sequence Direction 0 Southwest 1 West 2 Northwest 3 North 4 Northeast XXXgue structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Standing (for combat) This animation consists of XXXsc.bam and XXXsce.bam XXXsc structure Sequence Direction 0 Southwest 1 West 2 Northwest 3 North 4 Northeast XXXsce structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 North 6 Northeast 7 East NB – This appears not to follow the Northeast, East, Southeast pattern that the reverse BAM’s tend to follow. In this set we appear to be missing the Southeast animation I’m going to test this later and see if it works. Stand down (non combat stand) This has two animations to it. XXXsd.Bam & XXXsde.BAM XXXsd structure Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North XXXsde structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Sleeping This animation has two files attached to it. XXXsl.bam & XXXsle.bam XXXsl.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North XXXsle.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast Spell-build up This animation has two BAM files associated with it. XXXsp.bam & XXXspe.bam. XXXsp.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 Southwest 1 West 2 Northwest 3 North 4 Northeast XXXspe.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast NB – There doesn’t appear to be a south facing animation here either although I will be testing this as well by altering the file format to the usual format. Corpse/twitch Please note that this isn’t an animation but still follows the 2BAM pattern established in all other animations. These are XXXtw.bam & XXXtwe.bam. XXXtw.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 North 1 Northeast 2 East 3 Southeast 4 South XXXtw.bam structure Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Southwest 6 West 7 Northwest Walk This animation consists of two BAM files. These are XXXwk.bam & XXXwke.bam XXXwk.bam Sequence Direction 0 South 1 Southwest 2 West 3 Northwest 4 North XXXwke.bam Sequence Direction 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Empty 3 Empty 4 Empty 5 Northeast 6 East 7 Southeast |

Hmm not good news. it does not make conversion any easier but thanks for the info, at least they will be accurate.

It doesn't really impact conversion that much. If you're in possession of a multi-directional animated gif you'd still need to extract the sequences for importing (DLTCEP or BWII) and pallette editing.
