Atm SP prevents other mods from introducing their own sectypes - http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=18583.
In addition, Rogue Rebalancing v4.3 uses new sectype, and Spell Revisions v4 is going to make a heavy use of them as well. While the latter is probably not especially important, since both mods are more or less mutually exclusive by their nature, things like SCS and RR might not work well.
So far, I can suggest to remove ResistMagicFire/Cold entries to free up the space a bit, since those damage types aren't working in BG2 anyway (can crash the game at death).
