And yet I think that such a city gets it's charm from the loads of people you can meet and the side quests you will be able to pick up along the way.

Yes, as long as they do not obscure the 'sceleton', ie the main plot of the additional Chapter. Otherwise it becomes meddlesome and bothersome, and you might as well just add tons of quests to Athkatla or Trademeet.

And good luck Jastey smile.gif

That's what I think, too.

Thanks, Domi. smile.gif

I disagree. When it comes down to it, there's very little quality stuff that's been added to Athkatla or Trademeet.

Even low-quality stuff typically doesn't concentrate on expanding the city, since it's already fairly substantial in terms ot quests. I'd hardly say it's been overdone as a concept.

Yes, but there is an understandable charm for both modder and player in a new location. I juts think that Waterdeep is a bit boring, since all cities are practically the same in the game: houses, temples and harbour with average joes running around, asking to bring them their <insert item name> or kill <insert character name> - but it's just me.

Being a mod introducing a city I guess it will be a bit like that, yes.

...But then again it will completely stand out from the crowd of the common game cities, just wait and see! grinteeth.gif

Now you have my attention - what will make it stand out?

I could answer "you'll see", because of course I don't want to give spoilers now... grinteeth.gif but I admit that my line was phrased in exaggeration to draw everyone's attention... rolleyes.gif

We'll do our best to make it stand out. All used maps and information about the city will be AD&D. The city areas will be nicely integrated into the whole game, with a developping story line leading through most of the wards, and probably to the sewers and Undermountain, too. There will be lots of side-quests - probably not your favourite, Domi. wink.gif And there will be at least one possibility to solve a quest started in BG1 that was not really solved then, at least in my opinion. smile.gif

Hope this sounds interesting... smile.gif

Well, I do not mind side-quests, but I like them as icing not as the purpose, ie that you can miss any one of them and still have seen an interesting story. It sounds fine as a statement of intent, but I can not say if I like it or not until there is anything more conceptually solid, but that's to be expected since I am not hooked on Waterdeep as the must visit locale... Evereska on another hand... smile.gif anyway, good luck!
