The forums seem active, but I've sent a number of updates to dhdc at blackwyrmlair dot net (the contact address listed for the Download Centre) that have been ignored. I sent a copy of the last update to admin at blackwyrmlair dot net (no contact established at that address either). Is the site dead? Perhaps the previous caretaker has gone and could pass the torch to someone else?
My mods hosted here are *very* out of date. Natural Selection and Twist Pack are obsolete and should *not* be available for download. Both mods have been significantly updated and completely incorporated into my Morrow Gate mod. The version of Morrow Gate (v0.5) available here is out-of-date and misspelled as "Marrow Gate". The current version as of this writing is v0.8. My Arcane Archer mod is out-of-date here, but v5 differs from v4 by only a small consistency tweak. My Hellion mod looks up-to-date here. The forums seem active, but I've sent a number of updates to dhdc@blackwyrmlair.net (the contact address listed for the Download Centre) that have been ignored. There's your problem. That email address has basically been rendered unusable by spam. For the time being your better off pming me or sk. Your mods have been updated.

Thanks! I definitely understand about spam. I recently had to disable message posting to my Yahoo! group because spammers continually joined and flooded the group with spam. As fast as I deleted them, more came.
I'll pm one of you with any future updates. Again, thanks! aWL EDIT: Spelling This post has been edited by Wounded_Lion: Mar 15 2008, 01:17 AM -------------------- |

I apologize for the inconveniences, Wounded Lion!
Your latest email was received to admin at blackwyrmlair dot net (so no one is discouraged to send email to that address, I do receive it, the spam filter kills all spam), and I posted a topic in the DHDC private forum about it (to inform DL and ask if he got the mail). I wasn't aware of the problems with the dhdc email address, an active discussion is going on in the DHDC private forum at the moment. I don't really manage DHDC nowadays, that is why admin at blackwyrmlair dot net (which has always been redirected to me and I guess it won't change in the near future) is not mentioned in its site. I rarely update or change mods or mod database entries. By the way, Wounded Lion, please change the email addresses in your initial post to a different form, at the moment they are perfect victims of searchbots so BWL will receive even more spam emails -------------------- Mental harmony dispels the darkness.

That's a handy tip. If spammers are evil enough to infiltrate a Yahoo! group for game mods, I can easily believe that they'd target this large-community site as well. The e-mail addresses have been updated in my post.
I don't harbor any ill feelings towards BWL over this matter. Once I established contact with this thread, your moderators were friendly and responsive, and I now know how to submit future updates. All is well. aWL -------------------- |
