What do you mean about how fast? As there is even a configuration line in the BgConfig.exe(or some such) that let's you to modify the framerate, and thus speeds up the game, if wanted. It's usually at 30FPS, but it can be increased... Some instructions say to turn it to 40FPS and no more, as it becomes increasingly difficult to control the chars, and you might not want to push the pause every nanosecond.
