I usually steer clear of dual classes, but I'm giving it a try this time with a solo Berserker > Mage.
Other than memorizing a ton of scrolls, are there any tips for gaining a few levels quickly so that I won't be completely useless after switching? TIA -------------------- Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!

My tactic for this kind of scenario is to go directly to Watchers Keep right after you dual. Do the first few levels and then leave. Come back later to finish it off when you are more powerful.
You can do the same with other quests, go as far as you can...but don't complete. Then dual-class and go back for the final reward. |

I'd do some easy Athkatla quests. I'm pretty sure you can get 5th level pretty fast.
