Icewind Gate? Baldur's Dale? Options

Upon installing BGT I remember hearing something along the lines of Baldurs Gate featuring maps and monsters from Icewind Dale. And while i've probably ran into one or two of those during the playing experience I was wondering what the extent of the relationship between the two is.

Is there a mod featuring something that sends you to the dale from BG?

With all the mods and stuff its hard to keep track of the missions i've missed or what triggers them. I'm using the Big Picture mod and i've been through SOS and i'm currently on TS but i'm not sure whats involved in the other mods or what triggers them.
