We've started to work on BGT-NeJ2 subcomponent which brings Shar-Teel from BG1 to BG2. If she is in your party in BG1 then she will appear in one of the prison cells in the beginning in BG2. She will have a new portrait, all interjections with other NPCs through NeJ2 and BG2, and several banters with PC and NPCs. There have been several evil items in NeJ2 which she may use and wear. I'm looking forward to make a new fighter kit especially for her. Please give me your suggestions.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Please do it. As for a custom kit I would suggest the blademaster (originally from Drizzt1180).

I think she'd make a good Barbarian or Berserker (though, yeah, they're not new kits).

hope this works: its from TDD. I have a copy I use for my own personal use that I tweaked a bit to make it more what I think a blademaster is. My version uses all sword type weapons and starts off with w stars in dual wield.

CODE

//SAY ~Blademaster~
//SAY ~Blademaster~
//SAY ~BLADEMASTER:
//  While the Blademaster is of no higher status than a regular fighter, he has learned to specialize in a certain, specific group of weapons in his upbringing. He is an expert in dual-wielding and also has reactions of unmatched speed. He has learned to use this advantage to enter into a state of blind fighting, in which he uses his sense of hearing to attack his enemy, instead of sight. This makes him increasingly open to attacks, but also makes him a far more deadly opponent in melee. The Blademaster's specialisation limits the weapons he is able to use, and his requirement of speed dictates that he will never wear heavy armour.

//ADVANTAGES:
//-  Has a +1 bonus to hit
//-  Has a +2 bonus to damage
//-  Can enter a state of Blind Fighting at levels 10, 13 and 16 (This state will penalize his AC by 2, but will grant him 25 Dexterity and a +3 THAC0 bonus, for 5 rounds)
//-  Receives +1 to maximum Dexterity

//DISADVANTAGES:
//-  Receives -1 to maximum Strength
//-  Uses only the following weapons with any skill: Dagger, spear, quarterstaff, longbow, bastard sword, long sword, and 2-handed sword
//-  Wears no armour greater than studded leather
//-  Must be Human, Halfling or Half-Elf~

Shar-teel is good!

I think, if it was a kit that was made specifically for Shar-Teel, she would have taken pleasure in it being called Blade*mistress* biggrin.gif

Myself, I see Shar-Teel as somewhat of a beserker, and angry, furious warrior, with one of the vicious stiles. Such as high sword-low axe dualwielding, or flail and sword. It is too bad that whip is not a weapon in BG, it would have fit her as well.

I also see her having a special ability like dirty fighting, or cruel fighting - some sort of Beserker's alteration, when she rolls more critical hits and does more damage, but at the expense of ending up winded or slowed afterwards.

Gender-specific things (if duable)
She might also have an ability to curse, that will cast "doom" on males, or have + to hit/damage against anyone "male" the way the rangers have their racial enemies bonus.

Andyr, she is not barbarian by default, but berserker, well, may be a good idea if to add some other special abilities in my opinion.

Ronin, thank you, I like advantages but I don't like disadvantages. biggrin.gif She is a brute-force front-line fighter that means she must equip full plates. Bonus to dexterity and penalty to strength can be easily overcome by equipping special gauntlets and belts. Dual wielding, well, in my opinion is for light fighters (kensais and rangers), bards, clerics, thieves but not for tanks such as Shar-Teel. She wields two-handed swords and should accumulate proficiency in two-handed weapons and styles. At least this is my Shar-Teel, and my vision of her. Moreover in the evil party (and after concluding the third part of NeJ2 when Hrothgar leaves you) there will be no more paladins who can wield two-handed swords, moreover in NeJ2 there is a special anti-corsomyr sword found... all this brought me to conlusions that:
1. Shar-Teel is a MUST for evil parties.
2. Shar-Teel should be proficient in two-handed swords.

I thought that she might inherited some innate abilites of her father who cast fireballs like crazy in the last battle with Sarevok. Eventually I really like the idea to give her hit and damage bonuses, as well as some speed bonus at certain levels may be for the price of alignment, inability to specialise in missile weapons and decreasing her saves vs acid, poison, electricity, spells and overall penalty to magic resistance.

Be advised that TDD adds sharteel to the game. Maybe something in the readme that says there will be incompatibilities if TDD and NeJ are both installed.

in the version I posted the blademaster can use 2-handed sword. I use a blademaster for my main PC almost all the time and believe me the plate armor is not needed, the blademaster is a killing machine and is better than most tanks with plate armor.

just info

Ronin, I've never played TDD long enough to meet NPCs. biggrin.gif Anyway, if TDD adds her, so later on she might be removed from TDD with a single area script block if NeJ2 is detected installed.

I just thought I would let you know. Thats excellent that she can be removed, I like developing her myself so the continuous sharteel will be alot better than the one in prison in TDD (she is in prison with her weapons and armor)

Here is her kit:

FIREWALKER: This fighter kit was especially created for Shar-Teel to reflect her unique personality and her innate abilities inherited from her father Angelo Dossan.

Advantages:
- She gains +1 to hit, and +1 to damage for every seven levels of experience.
- She has access to a pair of innate abilities, which become available from her innate slots as she advances levels starting from the third level and then every six levels of experience:
1. Fireball.
2. Fire Shield (Red).

Disadvantages:
- She may specialise only in blade weapons (swords, halberds and daggers) except axes past normal specialisation.

May be to increase some of her stats every n-th level, for example strength+1 - at level 9, dexterity+1 - at level 12, constitution+1 - at level 15, and intelligence+1 - at level 18? By the way due to high dexterity she might be able to dual to thief if somebody is interested.

UPDATED

FIREWALKER: This fighter kit was especially created for Shar-Teel to reflect her unique personality. Being a naturally born fighter of immense power she has developed her extraordinary innate abilities to ignite matter inherited from her father Angelo Dossan. Spending much time on attempts to control created fire she learnt a lot on magic nature of the fire element and gained additional fire resistance bonuses to prevent possible burning into own flames. Such extensive studies of magick significantly raised her intelligence but at the same time drawn her life forces and weakened her irreversibly.

Advantages:
- She gains +1 to hit, and +1 to damage for every eight levels of experience starting from the 7th level of experience.
- She gains +1 to intelligence and 10% fire resistance bonus at levels 9, 18, and 27.
- She has access to several innate abilities, which become available from her innate slots as she advances levels:
1. Fireball (at levels 7, 12, 17, 22, and 27)
2. Fire Shield (Red) (at levels 7, 12, 17, 22, and 27)
3. Sunfire (at levels 12, 17, and 22)
4. Delayed Blast Fireball (at levels 15, 21, and 28)
5. Incendiary Cloud (at levels 19 and 28)

Disadvantages:
- She gains -1 to strength at levels 9, 18, and 27.
- She may specialise only in blade weapons (swords, halberds and daggers) except axes.

Will there be an option to keep her as a besreker? And secondly, will there be an option to have her original portrait? The picture is very nice, but i just can't imagine Shar-Teel spending her time carefully applying make-up with the immaculate lip-liner matching the glossy lipstick. biggrin.gif

Domi, my vision of Shar-Teel is different of yours. She is not a berserker for sure. If you don't like the portrait I made you are free to use the old one.

[EDIT] And I don't support the idea of male romancing her by the way. Lesbian, probably yes, but she hates males by default.

I'm very excited because I love Shar-Teel. I find her much more compelling than some of the other Evil NPCs. I look forward to eventually having an evil party with her.

If there's a romance I'm gonna have to skip it cause I don't want my gruff image of her altered biggrin.gif
