Spirit animals are overpowered in BG1 and later in BG2, they become useless.
In classic BG2, they are all level 10-12 no matter what (caster level is not checked)

Tutufix has a component to balance them in tutu.
But it's not that good for several reasons:
- a few problems : level doesn't change, hit point are broken
- installation TP2 doesn't successfully create EFF files.
- balance is not very good in my own opinion

Sorry for bad formatting but I don't have time for this:

Caster level Creature Level
1 Black Bear 1
2 Black Bear 1
3 Black Bear 2
4 Black Bear 2
5 Black Bear 3
6 Black Bear 3
7 Brown Bear 4
8 Brown Bear 4
9 Brown Bear 5
10 Cave Bear 6
11 Cave Bear 6
12 Grizzly 7
13 Polar Bear 9
14 Polar Bear 12
15 Polar Bear 15

This table shows spirit bear summons.
First, notice that summon level progression is very slow in the beginning because druid level progression is very fast.
Second, each spirit animal will be based on an existing animal.
"Spirit" gives them Spirit immunities : undead ones, immune to lightning, immune to normal weapons (for balance issue, it's only for level 12+)
Special abilities haven't been decided yet.

Globally, they will be stronger than previous ones at an equal level. But since progression is slower, it should be fine!
Also, their basic stats will match relating animal, but it is adjust with level.
To give an exemple, level 1 spirit bear will have the basic same stats as a black bear : 18/50 str, 3 APR, 19 thac0, paws that does 1-3 damage...

Of course, they will all have 9 constitution as they are not alive. It means that they might have lower hit points than their matched species if you install "Constitution affects monsters hit points".
A small drawback for all benefits they gain smile.gif

If you think it is underpowered or overpowered at some levels, I can change my tables.
