Hi.
Well, to make a long story short: why is it not recommended? I'm curious why this fixpack seems to be the reason for many bugs or other problems. Because it's poorly modded? Because of the methods used to actually "fix" things? Something else? |

Hi. Well, to make a long story short: why is it not recommended? I'm curious why this fixpack seems to be the reason for many bugs or other problems. Because it's poorly modded? Because of the methods used to actually "fix" things? Something else? We have two questions here: 1- Why is it not recommended? 2- Why is it source of bugs? A third question is: Is it incompatible with IA? The answers: QUOTE Why is it source of bugs? There are two viewpoints here: Do you test your mod thoroughly before releasing it or do you release your mod first and then wait for players to test it and send reports to you? I follow the first philosophy in Improved Anvil (hence you see absolutely no critical bug reports in IA's forum); they follow the second philosophy. QUOTE Why is it not recommended? First, because it is bugged. Second, because it confuses between "fix" and "tweak". QUOTE Is it incompatible with IA? Upto IA v4.2, it was not listed as "strictly incompatible", it was just listed as "Not recommended". But once IA v4.3 is released, it will be listed as "incompatible", because of its changes to alignments which can break some of IA's scripts. Sikret, your post is exactly what I meant with "prejudice", or call it rumour, or attitude. It is the same level as "IA breaks Cromwell's upgrade dialogue", a statement without any examples or proof.
Baronius, your post is more what I was hoping for, although it is so long I am not sure when I will be able to read it thoroughly. |
