Hi.
Well, to make a long story short: why is it not recommended? I'm curious why this fixpack seems to be the reason for many bugs or other problems. Because it's poorly modded? Because of the methods used to actually "fix" things? Something else? |

Regardless of reason, if a modder states he is designing his mod for use with a particular set of requirements, please follow the modders directions as best you can, and let the dudes who work behind the scenes scrap it out over philosophy of code fix vs tweak vs inclusion vs best practices vs usage -
Silkret expects and recommends a specific fixpack. He wrote his mod based on that particular platform, and needs to be able to help you troubleshoot any potential problems based on what he is comfortable with. If he asks folks to use Baldurdash, then the safest thing to do is use Baldurdash, and save the BG2 Fixpack for other installs. A search of every single forum in the IE community is filled with answers to this question from both points of view ![]() |
