There is a field "Forum username(s)" on the membership registration page (for those who wish to receive bonus memberships as gifts for their donations). These must be existing usernames.

There are already two members who sent us a donation of $6, and given nonexistent forum usernames on the membership registration page (see the end of this post for their data; if you recognize yourself, please follow the instructions there).

Consequently, we've just edited the page to reflect that the forum username(s) must be existing, that is, you need to have a registered account on the forum (a simple "Visitor" account is enough, via the usual forum registration). Otherwise, we cannot activate your privileged membership because there is nothing to activate...

The data of the people whose gift memberships couldn't be activated (and their donations were received) because we can't find their forum account:
